ALBERGUE RÍO SAR, also a cafeteria with a large terrace, is a second category tourist hostel located 25 km. from Santiago de Compostela in the parish of Iria Flavia belonging to the municipality of Padrón in A Coruña, where all the variants of the Portuguese Way converge. We are in the very Camino de Santiago and 1.3 km. from the Town Hall of Padrón. From inside the cafeteria or from its outdoor terrace you can watch the pilgrims on route or even wait quietly for your colleagues who are lagging behind.

Nearby is the Civil Guard barracks of Padrón, whose back is right in front of the hostel, and in the same building of the hostel you will find a self-service laundry open from 08:00 to 23:00.

Since May 2023, Río Sar Hostel is run by Lucia, a recidivist pilgrim who has now moved to the other side and now gives shelter to pilgrims. As a pilgrim who she has been on many occasions, she will easily empathize with you and will perfectly understand your needs, your physical situations when you arrive exhausted, sore or even pissed off. In whatever way she can, she will always try to help you.

The hostel, which is also a cafeteria, is not owned by her. She is running it on a rental basis and that is why the facilities and equipment available are what they are, not being able to be modified or expanded. Don't ask her for miracles, because sometimes she gets pissed off too.
